Observations at the Bear’s Den
I am sitting in the middle of the cafeteria at one of the round tables. All the booths are filled. There are four people at a nearby booth, they are having a very intellectual discussion by the tones of their voice and hand motions. There is a quiet lady sitting to my right minding her own food business, I have not seen her face because she is working so intently on her laptop. People keep walking past the table I am at to and from the door. As they pass they glance at me and my work for a moment before averting their eyes. I spotted Marissa, my girlfriend’s friend and she came to visit and eat. She was happy to see us. Behind me I saw a man in an army uniform eating with his friend. He was rather built with a shaved head covered by his flat topped hat. Knowing he was at the table next to me I felt a little safer leaving my laptop and skateboard at the table while getting food. There is a television above my head showing who wants to be a millionaire and some people on the other side of the room are watching some lady win money.
